Not to be confused with the hit British “Carry On…” film series, thisearly Canadian film was shot in southern Ontario – reportedly without ascript – by cartoon master Bruce Bairnsfather, telling the story offour friends who join the army to fight in WWI. Promoted as the firstCanadian film epic, this war drama is superbly shot, and thebattlefield scenes are especially impressive, considering the film cost$500,000 to make – the most expensive film in the history of Canadiansilent cinema.
