Lions Lincoln Theatre
156 Lincoln Way East
Massillon, Oh. 44646

The Lincoln Theatre in Massillon, Ohio opened Tuesday, November 23, 1915 as Massillon's new moving picture house. It was considered the finest moving picture house in Ohio.
The Massillon Lions Club purchased the theatre in 1982 to save this historic landmark from destruction. Major renovations have been done to preserve this theatre for the showing of weekly movies and community events.

The theatre is staffed by Lions Club volunteers. The Lions Lincoln Theatre is one of the few remaining movie houses in the entire county.
Built in 1915 as a 900-seat playhouse with a Hillgreen-Lane "straight" pipe organ for accompaniment, this theater was bought in the late 1920s by the Schine Brothers, who added a full rectangular marquee and a new Wurlitzer 2/7 theater organ.

Another group of "brothers", the Warners, took over the theater in the 1930s, and the marquee changed again to a triangular format.

That marquee was recently replicated and the whole building has been restored.
The seating was downsized over the years to 684 seats to allow for a larger stage.

The theater organ was sold in the 1980s and the theater is now owned by the Massillon Lion's Club who maintain and operate it.
